July 1st

The list for New Scouts who are eligible for the RRT on July 6th are as follows:

Scouts are expected to bring the following items for test taking:
Two dandia sticks
Paracord rope measuring 3 feet
Pen
Please note that a failure to arrive on time may inhibit the scout from participating in the RRT and BOR.

Please note that all scouts must adhere to the following scout spirit guidelines in order to be able to take the RRT and BOR:

Scouts must arrive on time. “Early is on time, on time is late, late is unacceptable.”

Scouts must be in full Class A uniform. Complete details can be found in the Advancement Policy document. Please note the following:

Any footwear besides croc/slides are acceptable

Patches including 758/shoulder patches/rank patch/patrol patch. Rank Patch and Patrol Patch are not required for New Scouts.

Scout must be present in a boy scout uniform. Cub scout uniforms/insignia will not be permitted.

Upon arrival, the scout will be expected to recite the following from memory:

Scout Law

Outdoor Code

If the scouts are unable to adhere to the scout spirit guidelines listed above, they will not be eligible to take the RRT and participate in a BOR.

Once a scout has met standards on all portions of the RRT, the scout will participate in a BOR. Upon confirmation of a valid excuse from the Scoutmaster, the scout will be eligible to participate in the make-up RRT.

June 29th

Our next troop meeting of this term will be held on Sunday, July 6th at Plano JK (6704 Alma Drive) from 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. All scouts INCLUDING Life Rank Scouts are required to attend.

All PLs and TGs (Patrol Leaders and Troop Guides) will need to stay from 11:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. in order to attend the PLC after the troop meeting and will need to bring a device with them (laptop/tablet).

Tentative schedule

9:00 – 9:15 = Opening Ceremony
9:15 – 10:30 = Rank Sessions
10:30 – 11:00 = Uniform Check and Closing Ceremony
11:00 – 11:30 = PLC

Dress code is full Class A uniform consisting of the following:

Olive green scout pants
Green scout socks
Khaki scout shirt (proper badges attached) with troop activity shirt underneath
Comfortable walking shoes
Green & Red scout scarf with BSA woggle
A uniform inspection will be performed and all scouts will be expected to have on their correct rank patch. All scouts would need to go and purchase their patrol patch based on the roster.

Scouts are required to bring the following supplies in a personal day pack:

Boy scout handbook
Three dandia sticks
20ft paracord
Compass
Writing utensils
Notebook
Personal water bottle
Failure to bring the above mentioned items may prohibit you from being able to complete rank requirements.

The RRT & BOR will be held on July 6th at Plano Jamatkhana FOR NEW SCOUTS ONLY

May 5th

Ya Ali Madad Scouts, Parents and Leaders,

This is a Reminder that a troop meeting will be held on Sunday, May 11th at Plano JK from 8:30am – 10:00am. All scouts INCLUDING Life Rank Scouts are required to attend.

Schedule:

  • 8:30 – 8:45am = Opening Ceremony
  • 8:45 – 9:30am = Rank Session (Scouts only)/Orientation Session (Parents)
  • 9:30 – 10am = First Patrol Meeting – Flag & Yell (Scouts Only)

The session will probably take an hour. If Parents have questions, concerns, or ideas, please attend the session.
Also, if you have items from the recently completed Spring Camp, and they don’t belong to your Scouts, please bring them so they can be provided to the proper Scout.
